A massive thanks to Paul Kemp, Liam Wasden, Mark Ashton, Rob Brown, Robbie Hume, Ash Cowley, Chris Beckett, Danny Shepherd, Dan Fletcher, Drew Brown, Adi Brown, Tommy Fox and Tom McCaig. Fantastic performance yesterday morning in our first league game of the season.

Wasn't sure what to expect yesterday as we were overloaded with defenders and started with 5 centre backs on the pitch, but if this type of line up was ever to suit a game then this was it. The Bury 'B' side were a very young side apart from a couple of much older blokes, as a result we overpowered them physically to the point where they were pretty much avoiding the middle of the park when they could. I can't remember all of the goals or when they came, but we were 5-0 up at half time, the pick of the goals being a great team goal starting at right back with Liam who played the ball up to Tom McCaig, he tapped the ball between two defenders as they were about to crunch him, then played a great one two with Chris Beckett, who in turn crossed the perfect ball for Tommy Fox to volley home from about 10 yards. Dan Fletcher also banged in a left footed rocket just before half time that the keeper didn't get near.

We started off the second half with another quick goal, then the Bury lads got into the game a bit more and got a goal back, we then added a seventh before Bury replied with another goal within ten seconds of the restart. We added another 2 before the end, including the individual goal of the game from Drew, who found himself with time on the ball 30 yards out, looked up, then curled the ball left footed into the top far corner, hitting both posts before finding the back of the net with the keeper powerless to do anything.

Fantastic performance from what looked a very defensive team on paper, all played with exactly the right attitude, there was no bickering between players and virtually nothing aimed at the Ref. Some good defending and exceptional attacking play, can we have this every week please!
